Crock-Pot Gumbo

February 1, 2018

Crock-Pot recipes are the best! After a busy day of work, it's awesome to come home to a house that smells yummy. Plus, you put everything in a pot and then just walk away. We all need simple, easy, but delicious recipes to add to our cookbooks! This one is by far my favorite crock-pot recipe. I hope you enjoy it!

  1. 1 pound of chicken

  2. Spicy Cajun Connecuh sausage

  3. 1 pound bag of frozen okra chopped

  4. 28oz can of diced tomatoes (with liquid)

  5. 1 white onion chopped

  6. 1 quart of chicken broth

  7. 1 cup chopped celery

  8. 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper

  9. 1 tbsp of spicy Cajun seasoning

  10. 1tsp dried thyme

  11. 1/2 tbsp olive oil

  12. Salt and pepper

  13. 2 cups of white rice

  14. French bread loaf

  1. Put all of your ingredients in a crock-pot.

  2. Cook for 4 hours or until all ingredients have had enough time to cook through.

  3. Once the chicken has cooked through, shred all of the chicken.

  4. During th- last 30 minutes of cooking, start making your white rice and french bread.

  5. Once your rice is done cooking, add to the bottom of a bowl and serve your completed gumbo over rice. Serve with toasted bread on the side.
