Weekend Guide to 30A

Sometimes you just need a weekend getaway. One of our favorite places to go to is Santa Rosa Beach, Florida on 30A. It is only a 4 1/2 drive from Birmingham, and it is totally worth it. A few weeks ago, we decided to head down the beach for some r & r. Due to the fact we only had 48 hours to do all the activities we wanted to do, I wanted to share with you guys how to take advantage of a quick trip down to the beach.

There are so many fabulous places to see in this area, and it's impossible to see everything in one weekend. However, this guide will share how to take advantage of the little time you have in one weekend. The great thing about 30A is having the ability to check out Rosemary Beach, Water Color, Seaside, Alys Beach, and all of the other great spots down 30A.

1. Picnic on the beach:

If you're driving down at lunch time, you probably wont have time to get solid beach time in. So I recommend you bring some fruit, wine, and cheese for a delightful picnic on the beach. This way you get to watch the sunset and have a good treat before dinner or apps at a great restaurant.

2. Drinks and Apps at The Pearl:

After a delightful sunset on the beach, it's the perfect time for a tasty cocktail and super fab appetizers at the pearl. This is a great time to enjoy the views as you walk through the cobble stone streets of Rosemary Beach. The Pearl has great drinks to choose from and a variety of appetizers. We love to sit at the bar and listen to the live piano music. My sister-in-law had her rehearsal dinner here and it was so gorgeous.

3. Early Morning Bike ride to Seaside Beach:

Now that you have experienced a perfect beach night, it is time to wake up and go on a bike ride. There are beautiful houses all along 30A. My husband and I love riding through Seaside on the way to the Saturday morning farmer's market. We dream about having a house down here one day. If you don't take bikes down to Seaside on Saturday, it can be hard to find a spot to park, so keep that in mind :)

4. Seaside Farmer's Market:

I am never one to miss out on a farmer's market! Seaside has such a cute farmer's market filled with some really amazing local vendors. From coconut water drained fresh out of an actual coconut to the best snapper dip with pickled jalapenos... this is something to check out. People also bring their pups and walk around while listening to live music.

5. Food Trucks and Shopping:

Since you're already down in Seaside, it's the perfect time for an early lunch and a little shopping. There are several different food trucks with AMAZING food. They have a BBQ truck, doughnut truck, grilled cheese truck, smoothie truck, and many more! Most of them serve adult beverages as well. After you are full with yummy food, it's time to do a little shopping. There are so many great clothing stores and furniture shops within the Seaside circle.

6. BEACH TIME:

Now that you've done a little exploring it's time to head to the beach. We love to bring the snapper dip and a bottle of white wine to the beach for our lunch. We also are loving the 30A Gose Beers - they are light and refreshing beach beers.

7. Dinner:

There are so many great places to eat on 30A. I am putting together a "Guide to 30A" blog post that will share some of the greatest places to eat. I recommend checking out a new restaurant next time you are down on 30A called Shunk Gulley. They have outstanding fish sandwiches and amazing fresh tuna dip. Clinton said their bushwhackers were great, and I tried their pina coladas and they were really fantastic.

8. Picture By the Seaside Post Office:

This iconic landmark is coming down soon so be sure to get a picture while you can!

9. Wake Up for the Sunrise on the Beach:

Since you are trying to make the most of your time at the beach, I highly recommend heading down to the beach early to catch the sunrise. You can bring a fun beach blanket and coffee and enjoy the early morning.

10. Brunch at The Perfect Pig:

After your bags are packed and you're ready to head out, you should definitely stop at The Perfect Big for Brunch. They have an incredible menu. Clinton and I had an engagement brunch party here after he proposed, and it is such a cute little place. It is casual and delicious. It is the perfect place!
